'Falcon' is one of those engine
that I know absolutely nothing about and one that I certainly
never saw in operation. Why then would I want to purchase a
model of it? Well, in this case it is simply because I think it
looks stunning in the lime green and brown livery and it adds
something a bit different to my collection.
However, had I purchased Heljan's class 17 Clayton loco before I
had the opportunity to get hold of 'Falcon', I may well have had
different thoughts. Fortunately, the debacle with the early
releases of the class 17 is far removed from the performance of
this loco which is exceptionally smooth and quiet. Heljan are to
be congratulated for making these prototype loco's available (I
hope Kestrel is as good as the 'Falcon') and it's a shame that
the class 17 blotted Heljan's CV.
