I have very little experience of Class 40 locomotives. I worked on the railways for more than 25 years without ever coming into contact with one, in fact it must have been just about the only diesel locomotive from that period that I never managed to work on.

This particular model was another ebay purchase but from a reputable model railway stockist and was on special offer which tempted me to buy it.

In model form at least they are a very nice looking engine (even better when they have all wheels on the track) and while I have not had the chance to test this one out over a long length of track I am sure that it will be just as good as other Bachmann locomotives. I'm very tempted with the forthcoming Bachmann class 40 in BR Green with DCC sound.
