This particular locomotive is one
of my most inspired ebay purchases and certainly one of my most
successful. After contemplating the purchase of a WD Austerity
for some time, because I love to see them at the head of a rake
of 16t mineral wagons, I had always been deterred by the fact
that the Bachmann model is not DCC ready. However, when this
locomotive appeared on ebay and with a 'Buy it Now' option, I
immediately paid the asking price.
90630 had been fitted with DCC sound by its previous owner as
well as a Seuthe smoke generator and when in action it is simply
excellent. All the hard work had been done for me and at a
bargain price too. The loco runs like a dream and sounds as good
as can be expected. With the addition of smoke what more could
you ask!
