OO Gauge Selby Garden Railway

Welcome to the Selby Garden Railway

With an interest in model railways going back almost three decades but never having owned a model railway layout either indoors or out of doors before, you can now follow my progress as I undertake the construction of an OO gauge garden railway.

Construction of the Selby Garden Railway is being documented at regular intervals in a series of postings on my forum thread together with photographs and videos recording each stage of development. The 'Selby Garden Railway' is designed for the operation of my personal collection of OO gauge model railway locomotives and rolling stock. However, don't expect to find an array of working signals or other such features as the purpose of the Selby Garden Railway is for me to be able to sit back and enjoy running model trains in a natural outdoor setting.

Once the garden railway is completed, wherever possible I will attempt to run trains composed of rolling stock from the same era but don't be surprised to find trains from different eras on track at the same time. I have a high regard for modellers who can faithfully reproduce a scene in minute and exact detail but for me a garden railway is for personal enjoyment, combining an interest in railway modelling with a passion for gardening and that's just what I have in mind.
